Investment to scale tokenization and trading platform amid rising institutional demand

LONDON, August 03, 2026Licuido, a tokenization solution and trading platform for digital ownership and asset liquidity, today announces a strategic investment from Ripple to scale its operations and support the development of digital capital markets infrastructure on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

Global capital markets are built on infrastructure that predates the rise of institutional-grade digital assets. Issuers, investors and liquidity providers all face the same constraints: collateral that sits idle instead of being put to work, settlement that takes longer than it should, and no easy way to unlock liquidity and mobilise collateral securely, confidentially, and in line with regulation.

Licuido’s tokenization platform and marketplace solves these problems, navigating the transition from traditional to digital capital markets. It provides a robust institutional framework for issuers to tokenize their funds and, through the FCA regulated Licuido Markets, the secondary market infrastructure to allow collateral trading on its platform.

The investment will support Licuido’s growth strategy, enabling the company to scale its infrastructure on the XRPL. By deploying tokenization and collateral trading, it will help to unlock liquidity from the $10 trillion of assets currently locked up in global money market funds.

“Tokenization, by itself, only solves part of the challenge of unlocking liquidity. Licuido’s platform allows clients to take the next step by delivering issuance, distribution and utility, within a controlled, confidential digital capital markets platform,” said Brian Lynch, CEO and Co-Founder at Licuido. “Ripple’s backing helps us to scale that infrastructure and our collateral marketplace, on the XRPL, helping institutions turn assets that have sat idle on their balance sheets into liquidity they can actually use.”

“Our partnerships with Aviva Investors, Franklin Templeton and DBS demonstrate how asset managers are focused on deploying tokenized fund structures at scale”, said Nigel Khakoo, SVP, Trading and Markets at Ripple. “Licuido provides core capabilities that are essential to further scaling this shift: liquidity for issuance and collateral mobility. This is just the beginning of the journey and we see a substantial opportunity to bring huge efficiencies to the investment sector over the next decade.”
